About Counselling
"Change comes about when you become what you are,
Not when you try to become what you are not."
Arnold Beisser
Counselling is an opportunity to explore difficult thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential environment. It is conducted by a trained and experienced professional who will listen - and respond - in an accepting and non-judgmental way.
The process begins with a one-hour, no-commitment meeting. This is opportunity to talk about your expectations of counselling: to discuss any concerns that you might have and to ask any questions you might have for me.
If, at the end of this meeting, you decide that counselling is right for you, we will mutually agree the goals of the therapy and whether the therapy will be short or long-term. Sessions last 50 minutes and are normally held on a weekly basis.
